ADING on the 14th International Symposium of DGKM

Ading is taking part as a supporter on the 14th annual symposium of the Association of Structural Engineers of the Republic of Macedonia.

Also during the symposium performed presentations by our engineers employed in the department "Technical Application and Sale" on the theme:

CARBONATION AS ONE OF THE PRINCIPLE REASONS FOR DEGRADATION OF REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURES

By Authors:

Grad. Civil Engineer Mitrevski Stevan and Grad. Civil Engineer Uzunov Nikola

SUMMARY

European standards EN 1504 for reparation and protection of reinforced concrete structures describes complete system of principles, methods and measures for determination of causes and level of degradation of reinforce concrete structures, as well as reparation and protection measures and materials. Concrete carbonation process is one of the main reasons for degradation of reinforce concrete structures, especially in environments where concentration of CO2 is high (cities, tunnels, bridges, industrial objects etc.) Proper prevention of these objects largely expands their exploitation period, drastically reducing possible reparation expanses.

And he second theme is: NEW ACHIEVEMENTS IN DEVELOPMENT OF CONCRETE ADMIXTURES DESIGNED FOR CONSISTENCY RETENTION

By Authors: Grad. Chemical Engineer Karamanolevski Predrag and Grad. Civil Engineer Uzunov Nikola

SUMMARY

Usage of “classic” concrete admixtures as Plasticizers, Super plasticizers and Set Retarders enables prolonged transport and application of concrete, although their usage is always fallowed by practical problems such as losses of initial consistency, as well as prolongation of early strength development. Latest generation of concrete admixtures - designed solely for workability/ consistency retention - enables transport and application of fresh concrete with the same class of consistency as the one in which it was produced, as well as uninterrupted development of early strength characteristics.
